When it comes to the tallest dunes in the United States, the Guadalupe Nipomo Dunes is one of them. However, they’re widely famous for their secret treasure that has hidden under their sandy surface. It’s more than 90 years that the dunes have secret a huge bounty of Egyptian remnants.

Although the bounty has included the statues of the grand sphinx, you can’t expect you’ll be able to find them out. That was actually a fraction of the location for “The Ten Commandments.” It’s a movie that had filmed plus buried in the place in 1923.

Oceano Campgrounds of the Pismo Beach

This campground locates near the Oceano town further than the Campgrounds of North Beach. Like the previously said one, the same authority operates this one as well. You’ll find a nature museum to enjoy out there.

Recreation Area of the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular

The area locates at the south Oceano and it has about 5.5 miles of open beach for use of the vehicle. And the larger area of the dunes has covered by sand for the use of a vehicle for enjoying off-highway.

You can enjoy many things like dirt-bikes, quads, and 4-wheel vehicle driving. You can drive beach vehicle just in this state part in this state of California.

As a result, more than two million visitors visit the part every year. Also, you’ll find beautiful places to camp in this beach park. Among other activities, you can do bird watching and horseback riding.

Natural Area of the Oso Flaco Lake

This is a part of the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area that locates north of the Guadalupe city. While visiting this area, you can walk up to the mile-long walkway that goes after the creek.

Also, it’s passing across the lake of Oso Flaco to the ocean. You can catch fishes out there that have approved by the authority. But, there is a safety issue on eating fishes as there is a higher level of dieldrin, DDTs, and/or mercury.

Rancho-Guadalupe Dunes County-Park

The location of the part is at the dunes south end and its owner is the Santa Barbara County Parks. But, they have leased to the Center for Natural Lands Management.

This park is the least spoiled by the plant species of introduced invasive than other parts of the Dunes. While visiting the park, you’ll enjoy watching whale, fishing, picnic area, hiking areas, interpretive trailer, and kiosk.
