When the outbreak of COVID-19 happened in Wuhan, China, people in the world thought it would go away itself like the common cold and flu. That didn’t happen! Now, scientists are preparing vaccines to combat the virus. Things haven’t gotten that better, but we have gathered many new information and facts about it. Labs are now able to diagnose and identify the symptoms of the infection. Home kits have been approved for taking the test for Coronavirus at home. So, what are these facts and info? Let’s have a chat.

    1. Anosmia is a symptom of COVID-19

Along with cough, sneezes, chest pain, runny or blocked nose, and high fever, another most common sign that has been reported is Anosmia. Anosmia means loss of smell. Some patients also complained about Ageusia, which means tastelessness. In South Korea, a count of 30% of patients who were tested COVID-19 positive has reported that loss of smell and taste was the first and significant symptom. And in Germany, 2 out of 3 patients faced the same issue. This caused a certain panic to the sufferers and the doctors. Now, doctors recommend that anyone who experiences a sudden loss of smell and taste should perform self-isolation or consult their doctors.

    2. SARS-CoV-2 binds more tightly to human cells

SARS or Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome spread the world fast. SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2 are two variants of Coronaviruses, SARS-CoV-2 caused COVID-19. Researchers have just discovered a significant difference that SARS-CoV-2 binds with human cells 20 times more tightly than SARS-CoV. And that’s one possible reason why coronavirus is hard to stop.

    3. People can be infected even without the symptoms

One-third of the Japanese citizens who were evacuated from Wuhan tested positive for coronavirus never developed the disease. On the other hand, a report in China shows that more than half of infected children showed no symptoms or mild symptoms of COVID-19. This can cause concern for people at some point. Public health officials are asking people to limit social contact and prevent getting infected and spreading the disease. That’s why social distancing has become an integral part of our lifestyle these days. You never know when you get infected.  That’s why limiting going out is necessary. Wearing a mask lowers the chance of spreading the virus.

    4. People with A positive blood group are more at risk

A Chinese study has shown that most of those hospitalized with COVID-19 have type a blood. This means that a positive blood is more susceptible to the infection. The study also found that there were only a few sick people with O positive blood. Hence, it can be concluded that individuals with type a blood are more likely to be infected by the virus, and O positive individuals are the least likely.

    Conclusion

If you have a positive blood group, you should get your COVID-19 test from the safe side. As you can still be infected even though your test results show negative. otherwise, it’s vital for everyone to get yourself checked at least once. These facts show how dangerous COVID-19 actually is, so take serious safety measures and maintain social distancing.
